Vmware virtual network editor download3/29/2024 Regarding your comment that you ".still have a useless Workstation license for my laptop that is of no use because of a clock speed issue. And thinking about any recent changes made to your system since the last time the Virtual Networking Editor worked for you. I assume that you've already tried rebooting. Hopefully you'll be able to find the answer to your question. I am glad that VMware is available, but If I didn't need VMware for my work, I'd be reluctant to use it. I gave up, something I cannot recall doing with any other important package. After literally days of troubleshooting and attempted fixes, the only remaining workaround was to disable ACPI-not much of a fix for a laptop. I still have a useless Workstation license for my laptop that is of no use because of a clock speed issue. I'd post more host and guest configuration however, this seems to be a GUI issue.Īs an aside, I grow extremely weary of grepping about the VMware forums nearly every time I make a change in my machines, or I create a new guest. I also tested this with dbus enabled, another issue I resolved some time back. I thought this might be a GTK issue I resolved a long time ago in that I have to set a GTK environment variable (export VMWARE_USE_SHIPPED_GTK=yes) before powering the machine. The /etc/vmware/networking file seems to have hashes that prevent a manual change. I would be grateful for a pointer as to how to change this setting manually. ![]() This makes some sense because I am trying to connect it to the second physical device on my host (eth1 instead of eth0). The reason why I need the editor is that I just added bridged networking and Windows reports that the device is not connected. I was never fond of the script however, I find myself missing it. Also, I can access the connection settings for each of my virtual adapters (NAT, host-only and bridged) while the virtual machine is running. As near as I can tell, all of the other dialogue windows (settings, preferences, etc.) function fine. ![]() I have tried this with the virtual machine (Win XP SP3) powered on and with it off however, nothing happens. I click on the Edit > Virtual Network Editor, and nothing happens. I've come across an odd problem with the Virtual Networking Editor in VMware Workstation 6.5.1 on Linux 2.6.25 (gentoo).
